Back in 1984, in the heart of Florence, AL, I had the incredible opportunity to attend my very first concert, headlined by none other than Ricky Skaggs himself. Recently, Julie and I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Ricky Skaggs after one of his electrifying shows in Jacksonville, FL. And let me tell you, chatting with this country music legend was a dream come true. I couldn’t help but convey my appreciation to him for being such a faithful witness for Christ in everything he does.
“I’m a big believer in marketplace evangelism,” Ricky shared with a twinkle in his eye. “When folks buy a ticket to my show, they’re coming to hear some good ol’ bluegrass music, and that’s exactly what I give them. But once I’ve got their trust and their defenses are down, that’s when I share the Gospel straight from the heart.”
